Gharat Ganpati (2024)

Image
✨A rush of positivity and warmth!✨ A very well written story & screenplay. This film beautifully portrays the variety of dynamics in a family. It shows some very realistic issues between different family members and the unresolved bitterness between them. Throughout the film there was an emphasis on the significance of relationships, bondings, culture and the younger generation's perspective on all of the above! This film also has captured the essence of 'Kokan' in some very beautiful angles and shots! What I loved is, this story not only shows Kriti's struggles of impressing the 'Gharat' family, but along with that also addresses how Ketan should take a stand for her in front of his family members, instead of making her adjust everytime. This was much needed. If they hadn't done that, then I would have been highly disappointed. Because in the first half it felt as if the guy isn't taking any efforts himself, infact he is just making her ...

Sahela Re (2022)

There is something about old & unconfessed love that is so melancholic, so heartbreaking, and yet so pure & special, like a deeply hidden treasure box... ๐Ÿ’Œ 'Sahela Re' is a story about Shama, a housewife of a luminary named "Vikram Rajadhyakshya". Revolving around his life and existing nothing other than his wife, she is stuck in a cycle of living for everyone except herself. Until one day, when an old memory in the form of a friend "Niranjan Kane" re-enters her life, to show her who she was before dissolving her identity as just a wife/mother/daughter-in-law, to make her realize she is much more than what she believes, and changes her life completely.  'Sahela Re' is one of those films which I'll revisit a lot of times in the future just for being in complete love with how they've handled this sensitive story with such mature dialogues. The performances of all characters are so real & believable - With Sumit Raghavan...

Ole Aale (2024)

A fun-filled ride of a father-son relationship that takes you through rediscovery of self and beautiful acceptance of life and its ways!  What should I begin with - Impeccable humour and comic timings of all actors? Beautiful emotions that hit you right in the heart? Wholesome songs throughout the film that bring a hugeee smile on your face? This film has so much to offer and I was not prepared for the most of it. The screenplay & dialogues of the film were crafted beautifully, staying true to the story and its needs throughout. Nana Patekar (Omkar Lele) is just human magic on screen, what he has done in this movie is unmatchable and each scene of him screams perfection! Makarand Anaspure (Baburao) although for a shorter time than others is still remarkable in his comic performance as always! Sayali Sanjeev (Kaira) a cherry-on-the-top element in the film and an aptly portrayed character! And Siddhart Chandekar (Aditya Lele), this guy - choosing amazing scripts one a...

YZ (2016)

I had watched this film years ago when it released, but back then I didn't have the maturity nor the understanding to truly recieve what the film was about. Years later, just a few days back, I decided to watch this film again, because I knew that I missed out on a good film just because it released when I was young and naive.  The film revolves around Gajanan Kulkarni, a middle aged man who is desparate for seeking love but not ready to compromise just for the sake of it, a man fighting between what he wants with life and what he is getting.  Firstly, I want to appreciate the storytelling narrative of the movie, which was on point and engaging enough to hook you deep into the world of Gajanan. I love the connection with the quirky side of Gajanan where he imagines himself and people associated with him to be old history characters, which comes from his own love for history.  The film has bang-on comic scenes which is backed by the impeccable comic timing of S...

OMG 2 (2023)

A captivating tale with a powerful message! "เคธเคค्เคฏ เคนเคฎेเคถा เคจเค—्เคจ เคนै, เค‰เคธे เค•เคนเคจे เคฎें เค•ोเคˆ เคถเคฐ्เคฎ เคจเคนी เคนोเคจी เคšाเคนिเค!" Okay, let me be honest. I am in love with the first part of OMG, but I had my doubts about the second one when I watched the trailer and got to know the plot, because this is a sensitive topic and it can very easily become a bad execution especially when they have a religious deity involved. But I have to say, I am super impressed by the way they have handled it all, they are direct and yet careful about the representation. Akshay Kumar plays the 'Messenger of Lord Shiva' who has come to help a devotee in need, Kanti Sharan Mudgal. It was a powerful performance with some of the most impactful dialogues, and on top of it, a perfect appearance and look! The film is about Kanti Sharan Mudgal, played wonderfully by Pankaj Tripathi, a religious man from a regular family whose life takes a turn when his son is caught in an act in school, and is rus...

Baipan Bhari Deva (2023)

A roar of empowerment, not a cry for help.  When I heard about this film before its release, I hoped for it to not be another pitiful tale of a distressed woman who is helpless but selfless, just like most daily soaps nowadays. But it was going to be directed by Kedar Shinde, so I was excited nevertheless. When the trailer released, I was so impressed already! It was humourous, it tapped on different emotions, and most importantly, it seemed genuinely promising!๐Ÿ’Œ I went to watch the film and it was a wholesome ride!✨ Firstly, I loveeeeeee when directors want to introduce their characters in a filmy style, I love it. It sets a mood for the film and builds your mind up for further!  A simple agenda of winning a 'Manglagaur' competition turns into the unfolding of complex emotions, surfacing of old insecurities, fighting with inner demons, voicing suppressed thoughts and standing up strong inspite of all the chaos! The competition and the rehearsals become an outlet ...

Dear Robin...

Image
"It's one thing not to want something, it's another to be told you can't have it." Robin Scherbatsky, the woman that I adored in the first few seasons of the show, the non-chalant essence of the character, her casual approach to things, a cool and friendly vibe and the gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous looks! Everything struck me and I was in absolute awe of the character! Until...the character started to become a little imperfect.. and yes I am guilty for this!  Robin started to become a confusing and messed up character in the later seasons of the show, she started to become confused between whether she wants a commitment or whether she wants to stay alone forever.. It became annoying to watch her break Ted's heart repeatedly, and even Barney's.. Felt like 'what's this girl doing, how does she not know what she wants?'  When Ted went back to her at the end of the show, I was super pissed off because I believed she didn't ...
