The Bold Type (2017)

One of the rare shows that depicts female friendships in a true sense, like they really are! 

The three lead characters are extremely relatable, their dyanmics with each other remind me of some of my friendships in life. Me and my sister were watching this show together the whole time, and we talked about how comforting female friendships are, you don't feel any kind of filter between you and them, you don't forbid yourself from talking about something or behaving in a certain way. You are just... yourself! Completely free, mad in your own way, chilled out, sharing your tiniest of joys & sorrows, comforting each other, supporting each other no matter what happens, and being there for each other always, in whatever way possible!

Talking about the story and concept, I honestly loved the whole idea of the show. This series is about Scarlet magazine which is a global women's magazine, and it helps provide voice to millions of women and talk about their issues, write about the forbidden subjects, and make the supressed voices feel heard! The entire process of running a successful magazine and at the same time, an experience through the personal life & relationships of the staff, is what the show is all about!

Jacqueline, the chief editor of this magazine and the boss of all the three lead characters, is such a firmly built character. She knows how to handle people in her office, how to motivate her employees, comfort them if they are going through something rough in their personal lives, and she knows exactly what to say. Basically, she is the perfect boss anyone could ever have! 👸


Let's please talk about the girls!! 
Sutton, Jane and Kat. 

• Sutton, an assistant at Scarlet • 
She is literally a queen!😭 I mean first of all she is gorgeous, secondly her personality reflects this happy-go-lucky and chill vibe ; Her body language throughout the series flows so naturally, which is why she seems real and authentic, we know girls like Sutton who spread their warmth everywhere they go! The way she talks, smiles, dances, sings, behaves, or merely exists.... everything about her is 💯💯 (majorly in love with the character)


• Jane, a feature writer at Scarlet • 
 Watching her write about the significant topics, researching about the issues and then writing about them in detail with conviction is honestly a very satisfying experience to watch, she makes me fall in love with writing all over again, and I love love love the 'writer-Jane' even if I am annoyed by the personal life choices she makes :') She is great in her work which makes her character strong and more likeable! 


• Kat, the social media head at Scarlet •
 Carefree, cheerful, taking life as it comes and a total rebel, always ready to take up challenges, always ready to set people straight, to fight for important societal problems and gain justice for people or herself. Very very very passionate about her work and very supportive of her friends! You want a Kat in your life after watching this show! 

One thing common between all the three characters is that they are extremely ambitious, always ready to speak up for a positive change, and always ready to do anything to make their friends feel better on a bad day! 💗


Okay wait, how can I forget Richard? 

• Richard, a board member at Safford •
 Richard, who is Sutton's love interest in the series, I mean, he is the perfect man on screen I've watched in a long time! He and Sutton are absolute cuties together, and they make a very mature, understanding couple on screen. While Jane and Kat are figuring out their love lives throughout the show, Sutton and Richard are head on heels for each other! He gives a charm to this show and I love his presence on screen!

Honestly there are many more characters in the show that are worth talking about, but if I tell you about everyone here it won't be fun when you actually watch it!

The Bold Type is the story of three women trying to make space through the competition and mark their territory in their respective careers, breaking the societal stereotypes, figuring out their love lives and while doing all this, they always have a beautiful friendship that keeps reminding them of their worth!

 This show has five seasons, four of them are on Netflix and the last one is on Prime Video! Watch soooooonnnnn❤️

Unimaginable and brilliant!  Very well scripted, fast moving, and a crisp story! This thrill-com is a complete break from your routine life, a dark comedy attempt in Marathi which is carried out extremely well!
